1. St. Mary’s Convent Arakkulam (1993)

Arakkulam is the land of farmers. Though troubled by various difficulties, the people are very much God-fearing. This convent was the dream of the people here. A convent was built in the plot of land bought from ChowattukunnelKunjep. Rev. Fr. Mathew Oozhackal blessed it on 27^th May 1993 with the first holy Qurbana celebrated by Vicar Rev. Fr. Augustine Kachiramattam. Rev. Sr. Genesius was the first Superior. The parishioners offered all help ... to the sisters. Thus they could very comfortably continue their apostolate of Family visiting and enrich the people with their prayers and deepen the Faith of the people. Sisters worked hand in hand with the parish's services especially in catechesis thereby enhancing the spirituality of the people of Arakkulam. As per the needs of the people, they started a Nursery school first in the presbytery verandah till the construction of a new nursery school on 3^rd December 1994. For the convenience of the sisters, a new convent was built and blessed on 3^rd July 2002 and a new chapel on 11^th February 2003. Now the sisters enrich the people of Arakulam through their creative services viz. Family visitation, Education and  Prayers.
