         For the needs  of the common  people of the Vakakkad parish, a nursery school was started on 3rd June 1974, in a shed attached to  St. Pauls LP school. For Seven years the LP School ran the nursery School. But due to the lack of facilities, it was unable to continue there. Therefore in the memory of Rev. Sr. Isabella Thundathil, one of the founding mothers of this convent,  a nursery school building was ... constructed in the land belonging to the convent with the co-operation of the parish members. And as St.Alphonsa lived in this convent for a year and taught in the LP school during that time, the nursery school was named 'Alphonsa nursery school ' in memory of the Saint.

        on 5th August Rev.Vicar Fr. Sebastian Maniyakkupara inaugurated the new nursery school building and appointed the Rev. Mother of Convent to be the manager of the nursery school. In 2005 to cope with the change in time and the need of society, the nursery School was raised as LKG  UKG English medium pre primary school. By 2017, as   the number of children increased, the UKG classes were held in the old Guest room of the convent. Due to the further increase in the number of children, it was decided that another building should be added to the nursery building. The foundation stone of the new building was laid on 5th October 2017. On 4th June 2018 Rev. Fr. James Kudilil performed the dedication ceremony of the new block. By the grace of Almighty 58 children are now studying  in the LKG & UKG classes .
