The Social Service Ministry of our religious congregation focuses on addressing social justice issues, providing aid, and supporting the marginalized and vulnerable in society.

 

The Vagamon Development Association' (VDA), operating under Alphonsa Jyothi Province Bharananganam of Franciscan Clarist Congregation, stands as a dynamic force in the upliftment and empowerment of the Vagamon community. Through a diverse array of initiatives spanning from de-addiction camps and educational programmes to medical camps and women's empowerment projects, the VDA has woven a tapestry of positive change.

 

Activities of our Social Service Ministry include:

 

Charitable Programs: Offering food banks, clothing drives, and shelters for the homeless and those in need.

Community Development: Working on projects that improve living conditions, such as building homes, providing clean water, and improving infrastructure in underdeveloped areas.

Advocacy and Social Justice: Advocating for social change and justice, addressing issues like poverty, inequality, human rights, and environmental stewardship.

Support Services: Providing counseling, job training, educational programmes, and other services to help individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency.

Disaster Relief: Mobilizing resources and volunteers to provide immediate and long-term assistance to communities affected by natural disasters.

Healthcare Outreach: Offering medical care, health education, and wellness programs to communities with limited access to healthcare.

Elderly and Disability Care: Providing support and services to the elderly and people with disabilities, including home visits, assistance with daily activities, and social engagement opportunities.

Youth Programmes: Developing programs for at-risk youth, including mentorship, educational support, recreational activities, and spiritual guidance.
